Your Value Determines Your Paycheck
I had an interesting conversation with my uncle regarding money. Prior to that moment, I do not believe I have ever had a conversation like that with him, yet I was intrigued at the subject matter.
My uncle used one phrase that I despise…”if I knew then what I know now.”
The truth is knowledge is not an excuse for the lack of execution. Whether you had the knowledge in the past or not, it still does not determine that your situation would improve. You can have all the knowledge in the world, and fail to execute. When that happens, what other excuse with you have?
I mentioned a book I had read a while back entitled The Secrets of the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker. In this book, Eker mentions one statement that resonated with me.
“You will be paid in direct proportion to the value you bring to the marketplace.”
The simple truth is if you are not excited about your paycheck, you are not offering the value to the marketplace. Your value determines the income you bring home.
How can you add more value?
You add more value by doing three things: learning, growing, and applying. Everyday you should make a commitment to learn something new. You should also be open to stretching your abilities and pushing past your fears. And finally, apply any new knowledge to some content that addresses your target markets primary challenges.
If you are not taking action, then you are not getting results and therefore not making money. And you have no one to blame, but yourself for not generating the income you desire.
You need to get in the game, and constantly feed the marketplace.
Regardless of your situation…everyone has value. It’s up to you to realize that value. If you have value, stop having excuses. Take a deep look at your paid stub. You get paid what others feel you are worth. If you don’t like it, then make the change.
Do you want a bigger paycheck? Then add more value!

Always increase your value. Get in front of your target market and address their largest challenges. Give them what they want, and you will profit. You are what is going to set you apart from the marketplace, and you are your greatest asset. Nobody is like you, therefore you need to go out there and provide value!
