The Foolishness: You Need to Cut It

NEWS FLASH: Network Marketing is not an easy industry. I’m sorry to burst your bubble if you that was your belief.

Although the industry is not easy, anyone with the combination of training and execution can be successful. But to be successful, you need to eliminate some of the foolishness that can derail your success. As many of you know, I do find music to be quite motivating at times. I’m especially inspired by the song “Cut It” by rapper O.T. Genasis. This song in particular makes me think of several things that need to be eliminated (or “cut”) in order to succeed in this industry. I will share them below:

Cut the Negativity

No one wants to listen to a whiny person. I’ve heard several people in the network marketing industry say “no one is listening to me.” Sure, no one listens to anyone who complains about not accomplishing their goals. Instead of complaining, give more effort toward success. Do not wish the journey was easier, wish instead to get better daily.

It is the set of the sails, not the direction of the wind that determines which way we will go – Jim Rohn

Life happens to everyone. I can guarantee one thing, you cannot become decorated if you are not willing to go to boot camp. So stop being negative and push through.

Cut the Excuses

You cannot be in the excuse zone and the money zone simultaneously, it just doesn’t work that way. You must pick the side you to be on; excuse or money. People make up so many excuses. Just eliminate all excuses. Excuses are tools of incompetence.

Cut the Fear

Fear and faith cannot exist together. We already know that fear is false evidence appearing real. Think about all the times we had to do something for the first time. When you first learned to drive, for example, you were not an expert. Yet, the combination of time and experience improves your driving ability. Once people get over the fear of being judged, they are one step closer to being successful. You must make mistakes in order to learn. Stop being afraid. Just go and walk in your faith.

Cut the Laziness

You have to do what it takes to make this marketing work. Someone needs to hear your message. Someone is looking to YOU for leadership. Just show up. Cut the bad work ethic.

Cut the Procrastination

Stop putting things off today for tomorrow. You have to do what you need to do in order to reach your goals. Stop procrastinating on trying to help people. Stop “getting ready to get ready.” If you don’t start, how will you reach the finish line?

Cut Comparing Yourself to Others

You cannot compare yourself to someone else. Stay in your lane…its your lane for a reason. Keep up with your personal development. Worry about conquering what YOU can do. You do not know what others are going through. Get connected with your goals.

Cut the Unbelief

Belief is the root of action. I will list seven points of belief. These points are essential to taking you from amateur to guru.

7 Points of Belief
  • in God (or your religious figure)
  • in your team
  • success coach or mentor
  • your MLM company
  • the industry
  • your vision or dream
  • yourself (you have everything inside of you right now)
    • turn that switch on
      • turn on that inner Beast Mode

Cut Your Circle

The truth is, not everyone wants to see you succeed. It is a sad truth indeed. Managing relationships is extremely important. If the relationship is not benefiting you, then you need to cut that relationship. It doesn’t matter who that person is, if they do not support you, then why are they in your life? Trash is trash for a reason. Identify what (or who) you need to cut from your life. Your plane will not fly if your baggage compartment is too heavy, cut the dead weight!
